Is Fear The Key? I'm Not Sure I Kopy, Do You? (Wink, wink)

It doesn’t matter where you are in your journey through life; enjoy the trivia along the way.

No two leaders share the same success story even if the road is frequently traveled by oh, so many!

If you are hardworking and good at your craft, your competition will not bother you. In fact, over time, you will realize that you are your only competition. (Wink, wink)

You have to know what you want, to get where you want to go. (Blink, blink)  Perhaps the goals are too many or too high? (Huh?)

You might feel overwhelmed by the sheer size of the project? (Egad!)

Let me explain:

Perhaps, there are no pit stops to pause and quickly change your tires. Perhaps it is your competitors that scare you or sometimes it is your own self that is the obstacle in your struggle towards progress. There are so many obstacles (Whoa!) and no time to slow down and think it over. (Tsk, tsk)

Take tiny steps towards your destination and spend time in sighting clouds to count or in guessing the countries the clouds look like. (Blink, blink)

Of course, if you are in a hurry, you could count milestones, be more focused, and driven. But the chances are that you have missed the scenic beauty and that you will burn out quickly, or would be in a state of temporary paralysis. These could be palpable fears of the unknown that are crippling you just by thinking about it.
Don’t make fear the key; it will only confound you.
Take delight in the small and simple. It will never fail to surprise you.(Wink, wink)

A Loser Never Tries And A Winner Never Quits. Capiche? (Wink, wink)

The darkest time of a day is before the crack of dawn. (Old hat? Hmm)

Then why do so many of us give up when things get pretty bad? (Tsk, tsk)

Or why do we dream but never do? (Oh, dear!)

The best results for both the conditions lies in action. Execution, shipping it. (Ugh!)

Action comes guised in many forms, though all forms lead to one road: the road to success. (Hmm)

You are not done until the last ball is served, they say. True for Tennis, not for Cricket, not always, though, would be more accurate.

You beg to differ? (Tsk, tsk)

You’ll never know unless you’ve really tried, will you now? (Wink, wink)

When Finding A Good Boss Is Tough..,Capiche?

When Finding A Good Boss Is Tough, Find A Good Coach. Capiche? (Hee haw)

In our formative years we are told that academics is everything. It is true to an extent.

Good marks gets you a seat in a prestigious college as also a good job.

The test really comes after you land your first job.

Simply put, it is the work environment that determines your Fate.

Rising above politics, doing good work individually and as a member of a team, keeping the boss happy with great work and being a good spouse and parent (phew) will determine your success quotient.(Egad!)

If this isn’t your story, change your job, or else, find yourself a good coach. (Hee haw)

Successful People Also Cry - Kopy This?

When you become a somebody from being a nobody, people think you’re an overnight success. (Sigh)

Nothing is further from  the truth. (Huh?)

And no matter how good your work is, when you’re on your way up, the others will pull you down. (Gasp!)

It may not be a nice way to start a new chapter in DoYouKopy18, but just a reminder that a lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into being good at your craft. (It’s just not my day) (Sob, sob)

P.S : I’m not a success but a work-in-progress. Jus’ saying... (Tee hee)

Bouquets and brickbats are welcome. I’m learning from you as much as you are from me (Say cheese?)

You can be famous too!

Stake Your Claim to Fame and Perhaps Your Work at the Cannes 2015

Dear Readers,

I need your help. If you look at my posts at http://poojashriram.blogspot.in, you’ll understand why. The headlines suck! I mean, what was I thinking? Can a meal survive on the meat alone? Does the quality of the bread not matter?

So, here’s the thing. Please go through the posts before you attempt to write suitable headlines. Also,  please keep the voice of the posts in mind. That’s it, then.

The best headlines for the posts will be updated with your name on it. There’s no saying where the next superstar will come from, is there now? (Wink, wink)

And that's not all. The best writer will be given an opportunity to work one-on-one with me in preparation of Cannes 2015.

Please write all your headlines in the comments below each of the blog posts.

Looking for some great fun,

Until then,

Adieus!

One Question Away from Owning a Swimming Pool! (Gasp!)

Just one FREE question can make you write yourself a swimming pool

Dear readers,

It is with great pleasure that I announce an opportunity of a lifetime. An opportunity, that copywriters have been searching, reading copious volumes of books from the legends of copywriting, but not getting a handle on just what it takes to earn megabucks.

As you are aware, the #headline *is* the Big Idea and so it is that I propose to answer all your queries, big or small, tough or simple, wise or silly, or master or rookie, pertaining to the headline only for FREE.

If you have a question, or more, shoot it to: rajanirsa@gmail.com and I will answer it the best I can. And who knows, I may be writing to the future mega stars who write themselves a swimming pool, yes? (Wink, wink)

Until then,

Adieus!

Because Every Complex Problem has a Simple Solution

Because Every Complex Problem has a Simple Solution

So you have a problem finding a solution for your copy? There is a way out for every problem, and hence this article. Here are some of the problems that I could think of. I’m sure there are more.  Do write in so we can discuss them in this blog.

Problem 1:

How do you write copy for a product that has the same features and isn’t the market leader for the product?

Assuming all things are equal and that the brand isn’t the market leader, you could admit the truth first, and then state your claim.

For eg., Gorenje Home Appliances has similar features as its competitors and isn’t the market leader. So, you could say:

We’re not among the top five, but we’re getting there

Admit the truth, consumers will respect you for it and they probably know it too; but they also love the hardworking underdog and so would love your determination to make it sometime soon. At least that is the hope.

Problem 2:

How can I explain a complex issue in a simple fashion?

You could perhaps use a metaphor or a simile to solve the issue.

For eg., for a complex problem like AIDS, you could use the metaphor of Russian roulette to explain how a single bullet, a single mistake could do you in. So, you could say:

A hit or a miss? Eventually, the game catches up with you

Problem 3:

Is copy writing a science, having a formula to crack it with?

No, because then it would not have soul. A consumer will sense the insincerity and realize that you just want to make a sale.

Copy writing is the art of persuasion. By all means, use a trick or two, but for it to be effective, you have to put your soul into your copy. There has to be honesty and a charming sincerity in it.

Do you have a particular problem that you would like me to address? Write in, in the space below and we’ll discuss it in a blog post.

Until the next,

Adieus!
