Second Time Lucky
So you mentally pay
yourself by the hour. You have no time to revise and so ship it with the
cursory spell-check.
Big mistake.
Some of your best
work could be when you spare your work a second glance. Perhaps, you wrote
without planning, or worse, thinking? Perhaps, there was more to say in less time?
Perhaps there was a need to edit, sometimes by a big margin?
Yes, yesterday’s post
was about earning more by working less. I did say that. What I didn’t say was
that speed in writing could slow progress if it wasn’t edited on time. Work
when the flow of thought is good, for that means a better thought through
process.
So you have it all
pat? Don’t forget to put it away for a couple of hours and come back with an
interesting headline and more fine-tuning.
Don’t perfect your
art. No one can, although you might try.
That’s how I do it.
How about you? Is yours a perfect work of art? How do you edit or do you ship
on the first run? Would love it if you could share your work process with us in
the space below.
Until the next,
Adieus!
