Day 1:
In order to be effective, the headline
must contain one benefit. Is that asking too much? Not quite.
You see, very often, we indulge in
puffery to please the client when actually we should try to please the
consumer. This is so because when the
customer is pleased a sale is made and so the client is pleased.
So instead of lauding the features, we
should be extolling the benefits of the product. Correction; that should read: a
benefit to the consumer. That way we tell him what’s in it for him for shelling
out his hard-earned money. If he sees reason and there is an urgent need for
the product, he prods around the various other, but similar products, before he
makes up his mind to buy.
Makes sense, doesn’t it?
I would think so too.
